The long-awaited new album from Nine Inch Nails, With Teeth, will be released on May 3rd. I'm hearing great things from all who've heard it in advance. According to them, Trent Reznor has knocked this one out of the park. I may just put on NIN's 1999 album The Fragile in anticipation of this new one, although With Teeth is supposed to be very different in certain ways.

Look at this point I'm just going to stop apologizing for my blogging habits.

I watched Hotel Rwanda earlier this afternoon. It's a powerful and sobering portrayal of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. Yeah, Jamie Foxx was great as Ray but Don Cheadle should have won the Oscar here. His role as hotel manager Paul Rusesabagina is just amazing. Watch this movie.

Reefer Madness was lunacy at his highest form. The cast, namely Kristen Bell, were brilliant. It's playing on Showtime this month.

I also watched Primer. WOW! Co-star/writer/director/editor/composer Shane Carruth created this mindfuck of a movie for only $7,000 and it doesn't even look like it. Two friends accidentally create a time-altering device and have to decide what to do. View the film but be prepared to be confused. It is a truly maddening, unnerving film but well worth it.

Suspect Zero was a serviceable film. Rent it if nothing else is in.

I still have an overdue rental of Birth to watch. Hopefully director Jonathan Glazer (the no-adjectives-can-describe-how-great-it-is Sexy Beast) made a decent sophomore film.

Pretty damn cool, huh? This is the first official shot of Brandon Routh as the Man of Steel from Bryan Singer's upcoming Superman Returns. It co-stars Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane and Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. Warner Brothers' Superman Returns is slated to fly into theaters June 30th, 2006. I'll be there. And all of the nitpicking geeks can officially shut the fuck up. God, you wouldn't believe the sanctimonious bitching being done by these losers. It's insane and idiotic.

WOO-HOO!!! I simply cannot wait until Tuesday! Serenity is my most anticipated film of the year. (Batman Begins is second.) I'm also looking forward to watching the trailer in front of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy next weekend.

UPDATE: Also, the new trailer for Batman Begins should be attached to The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy as well as XXX: State Of The Union and House Of Wax on May 6th. This is according to IESB.net.

Speaking of next weekend... Saturday I'll be doing a full-store inventory with our manager and a co-worker from 11PM-5AM. This should prove to be interesting as I've done inventories for our company, just not at this particular store. I'm participating because one of our assistant managers had to have gall bladder surgery last Monday and he needs some downtime for a while. He sees the doctor this Tuesday for a checkup and to see how active he can be at work. Rest up and recuperate, Jeff! :)

Last night, Real Time With Bill Maher had Jane Fonda, Salma Hayek, Joe Scarborough, and the returning Alan Simpson (who got pissy with Bill last time for no apparent reason). Hopefully it'll be a great show. Our power went out at 10PM last night (thunderstorms) then came back on at 10:30. I was out like a light shortly thereafter. This is why I love TiVo. I program it in advance, it grabs it for me later.

Mmmm...finishing up Pizza Hut...and then coffee and a 3 Musketeers bar for dessert.

Perhaps later I'll finally get around to watching Maria Full Of Grace and the Charlize Theron-starrer Head In The Clouds.

Saturday Night Live is currently airing on NBC. Tom Brady (from the New England Patriots) is hosting with musical genius Beck as music guest.

So I returned the Serenity book. It was very good. I think I'll either buy Sarah Vowell's new tome or that John Ridley novel with that money.

I watched Cube Zero today. It was a pretty good prequel. I still have Maria Full Of Grace from work to watch, along with 9000 other things on TiVo.

Veronica Mars has been renewed for a second season! Joy!

The gory details are above. It is one of my favorite shows on television. Hell, I'll go ahead and say my favorite. It's smart, extremely well-written, and doesn't play down to its audience. Congrats to Joel Silver, creator Rob Thomas (not that one), and an excellent cast anchored by the brilliant Kristen Bell in the lead. Hopefully UPN will amp up its promotion for the series, release season one on DVD this summer (along with re-airing it), and pair it with other new dramas this fall.

Now if only FOX will renew Arrested Development. I was unsure if this season would top the first but it's really become hysterical these past few weeks and it needs to be renewed ASAP.

So Air America Radio is leaving SIRIUS to go with xm radio as of June 11th, albeit in a truncated formula. Unless xm plans to carry AAR 24/7 at a later date, I don't see why I should bother with getting it after spending a pretty dime on SIRIUS. I'm still torn as to whether or not I'm going to ditch SIRIUS and get my hard-earned $$$ back as AAR was the only reason I got it. Decisions...decisions...I'll let the minus three people that read this know what I plan to do once I know what I'm going to do.



Written by David Seltzer (The Omen), I've read some pretty good reviews of this and I'll give it a watch, all six episodes.

Tonight, the stage adaptation of the cult classic musical debuted on Showtime...




It looks hilariously over-the-top. I've not seen the original 1936 "Reefer Madness" short (originally titled "Tell Your Children") and I hope to someday soon. Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell stars, as she did in the L.A. play, alongside Neve Campbell, Alan Cumming (who plays everyone from Shakespeare to FDR, I hear), Steven Weber, SNL alum Ana Gasteyer, and the voice of the Cryptkeeper himself, Jon Kassir. Kassir also reprises the role he played in the stage version. I'll post a review later of course. And in case you're wondering, no I've never tried the title plant. I guess I'm a square, huh?

which I didn't know we had in Savannah. Yeah there's one in nearby Richmond Hill but until last night I was totally unaware of its existence. Thank you delicious excursion to Popeye's (which I didn't know existed either until two or three weeks ago) last night for the tip. I need to get away from the Southside of Savannah (where I live) more often.

I saw Sin City earlier today and enough breathless adjectives, all true, have been thrown its way to fill countless tomes. Nonetheless I will give my thoughts on it later.

I realize that as a blogger I'm pretty milquetoast and have been slacking as of late. I'll try to make up for this. I promise.

Well I've spent all day around town looking for the book, Finding Serenity: Anti-Heroes, Lost Shepherds and Space Hookers in Joss Whedon's Firefly. As previously noted, I am a huge geek of all things Firefly and this is a collection of literate essays that pontificate on the themes raised in the series and what paths it may have taken had Fox not cancelled it. So the book was not at Waldenbooks, not at Barnes & Noble, and the computer at Media Play stated they had two copies but the guy couldn't find them. They had them labeled in the computer as a BARGAIN BOOK and it puzzled him as the release date was noticed. So after looking in the FILM/TV section and said BARGAIN BOOK section, he offered to call me if he finds it. So I most likely be ordering this from Amazon if another trip to find it tomorrow proves uneeventful. But hopefully it will be. You know, I live in Savannah, GA and I thought that a newly released book would be alot easier to find since this is a decent-sized city. Might this be a good sign for us Browncoats if I can't find the book? In any case, I can't wait to read it. :)

Well it appears that Hell is finally bubbling over and flooding the earth en masse now. Tom DeLay is evil incarnate with his "I'm a fiery loon" act and the embezzling scheme, Republican senator John Cornyn of Texas equate the recent deaths of a judge and violence against another judge's family as proof that some people might be angry over "judicial activism". And they say Democrats are evil people that drink virgin blood in the waning moonlight? Please.

and then I will finish watching the highly anticipated HBO America Undercover documentary Left Of The Dial: The Rise, Fall, & Resurrection of Air America Radio. As the title suggests, it brings you the tale of AAR's launch, almost failure, and then triumphant rise and resurgence.



It is awesomely in-depth from what I've seen and it's heartbreaking seeing the evil slime that is Evan Cohen act like he's *the* man when we all know what a sheister he is.

I look forward to finishing it later this weekend.

Well, we took back those crappy "orthopedic" inserts to that foot place. They hurt horribly bad. I tried some Dr. Scholl's Gel Inserts this week. No dice. I think the floor at my job is made of demonic tile. It hates me and my feet and I have no clue why. So said floor is the reason why I yet again woke up at 3:30 this morning with left ankle pain. Yes, I've been up since 3:30AM. A nap may be in my future today.

I have decided to grace the cyber ether with a movie review sometime this weekend. And if this post to the blog doesn't post seven thousand copies of itself, I'll be a happy man.

Many fans of the Air America show Unfiltered are/were upset at that show's cancellation. Its final show was yesterday. As of today, a new show will take its place...

Jerry Springer has taken the helm for Air America's 9AM-12PM slot. Springer's radio show started earlier this year and has aired on several Clear Channel-owned Air America affiliates. Springer's show originates from WCKY-AM in Cincinatti. Now, while you may think that blue-haired yokels with marital problems will litter this show, worry not. It's a 180 from the zoo-like atmosphere of his talk show. Springer On The Radio is interesting, intelligent, and well-informed. Jerry's a passionate progressive who takes no prisoners and pulls no punches. Sure it may sound like I'm spouting off PR nonsense, but give him a try. I welcome him to Air America Radio and wish him much luck.

Another thing that surprises me is that the fans of Unfiltered can't see the forest for the trees. Unfiltered was on less than HALF of Air America's affiliates, as Clear Channel opted to run either Stephanie Miller's show (very funny) or Springer On The Radio. For whatever reason, Unfiltered never caught fire. Air America Radio is a great progressive voice but one must also remember that it is a business and all liberals should want it to succeed. You can't keep a show on the air that's not getting clearance. Springer, for good or bad, will bring name recognition to the show and perhaps even coax some of his talk show's fans to radio for a listen. Don't fret for Unfiltered hosts Rachel Maddow and Chuck D. They'll be getting their own shows soon. The Rachel Maddow Show will begin on either April 11th and it will air weekday mornings at 5AM-6AM. Congrats to Rachel and I look forward to hearing the show, even if I have to download it from Air America Place! Heck, I might just get up early to give a listen! Plus, this is even better news for her and the die-hard Unfiltered fans as the early show time virtually guarantees clearance on all of Air America's affiliates.

So good work Air America and keep up keeping up. You're awesome in all your ways.

Currently housed on TiVo are the series premiere of ABC's Eyes starring Tim Daly as a corporate spy-for-hire, the two-hour premiere of USA's new Kojak series, and eight episodes of the always kick-ass Battlestar Galactica.

And yes I will be seeing Sin City sometime this weekend, mark my words here people. I am so geeked out for this movie it's hard to articulate.

Good luck to Harvey & Bob Weinstein as they begin their own, brand-new multimedia company. If anyone can do it, those two can. Some start-up money will be financed by Robert Redford and Paul Newman, plus investment firms like Goldman Sachs. Kevin Smith's next film, the Clerks sequel The Passion Of The Clerks, will be released by this new company tenatively titled The New Co. The first film to be released by The Weinstein's new entity will apparently be an NC-17, unedited stitching together of both Kill Bill films entitled Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. That'll rock, no doubt.
